Wow, I can't believe it is already 2010. We have so much to be thankful for that I thought I would take a moment and reflect on 2009.
2009 was a great year for us.
Brady learned how to use the potty, sit in a regular chair, get dressed by himself, sleep in a regular bed, get up and down the stairs unassisted, get in and out of the bathtub, put his plate in the sink when done eating, wash his own hands and face, recoginze and name letters, use the TV and DVD remotes, ride a bike, drive a truck, give squishy hugs, sing every xmas carol, play in a band with his cohorts in crime Brock and Wyatt, and basically crack us up with his profound observations. He is a sweet, energetic, thoughtful boy who loves CARS, sports, trains, firetrucks, playdoh, puzzles and food. He is offically a little boy now. Not a toddler or a preschooler anymore- he is simply to independent for that. Our little boo is all grown up. Where we used to wait for him to yell Mommy! Daddy! from his upstairs bedroom, now he comes downstairs by himself and wakes us up with (loud whisper) Mommy, Daddy, the suns up! Wake UP! Are you going to sleep all day??? Ahh, yes, he is growing up.
Cullen is a delight and his list of accomplishments is also quite long. He has learned all the regular baby stuff- hold his head up, sit up, crawl, feed himself, etc. Most importantly he has re-learned how to eat 5 times...once at birth and after each of the four surgeries he endured this year. He put up with the arm restraints, the meds, the sutures, the restrictions, the syringe feeding and the overprotective parents who watched his every move post surgery. All the while he continued to be a beautiful baby boy who loves a good cuddle, belly laughs if you zerbert his tummy, giggles if he is flipped upside down and laughs whenever his brother laughs. He moved up to the toddler class this month and is enjoying his new digs. He is avidly practicing how to walk, loves to crawl in the grass outside, is the first one at the table to eat and the last one finished after multiple helpings, and is very curious. He loves music (that's my boy!) and will dance, clap and talk whenever anyone is singing. He has discovered his tongue and takes every opportunity to show it off. He says Mama when he sees me and has learned the signs for Food, More and All Done. So clearly the important stuff is covered! Now we are working on Brady and Daddy.
We are very, very lucky to have such amazing little people in our life and try to enjoy every day to its fullest.
Here is to a happy and healthy 2010.
