And all through the house not a creature was stirring...not even the cat.(She is snoring right behind me on the couch.) All the kids were tucked in their beds in hopes that all goes well tomorrow and sugarplums or something like that will dance in their heads....
Tomorrow is surgery #4 for Cullen Parker McGarr - he is getting a definitive soft palate closure at 7:30 AM the day before his first birthday! When what did I hear "you have got to be the worst parents and coal in your stockings this year" for scheduling his surgery that day! I think Santa is bringing Cullen lots of stuff to make up for spending his 1st Birthday in the hospital. Dr. Stal was available in December and was willing to go forward with this surgery so we will forever give Cullen the freedom to say -"remember my first birthday, now what was that you were saying about fair...." Don't think we are really bad parents, this surgery will help with his speech and the sooner it was done, the faster we start hearing the "Mommy and Daddy's" that we soooo want to hear! And for those that know me well -- golf and surgeries -- we have to be at TCH @ 6:00 AM!! That's 0600!! It is still dark outside!!!
For those trying to catch up - quick recap (as given by Bec to the pre-op nurse today) -- Latham device, two teeth pulled in March, Vulmer flap and hard palate work in May, Lip closure, tubes in his ears and a frenulum or something - his tongue was tied in September and now a definitive soft palate repair with a little hard palate thrown in December! Pretty good elevator pitch if you ask me..
So here's to another good surgery -- and Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!!
