Breakups

Well it had to happen eventually but it seems rather early to be entering into this stage. Our boys have both broken up with someone dear in their life... Brady & Samantha and Cullen & Duckie have broken up. It is sad times around this house. In the Brady situation it appears that she has moved on and our little man is not yet ready to let go. :-( I am sure it is hard to tell an 8th grader that she isn't the only fish in the sea, but it is really hard to tell a preschooler. In the Cullen situation he moved up to the big boy bath tub and never looked back at Duckie. He now crawls all over the tub and Duckie sits lonely in the closet. So we end an era Duckie baths and progress to shared big boy baths with two giggling boys.

In other news, Brady is excited that Cullen is once again going to school with him. One of Cullen's first days at school was during fire prevention week. A fire truck full of firefighters visited Primrose and all the kids got to go outside and explore it. Although fire trucks are way cool for preschoolers, they can be a bit intimidating for infants. Brady noticed his brother crying and asked to go sit with him to make him feel better. Needless to say he melted the hearts of all the teachers in the process.

And if you have been looking for us on a weekend it is likely that we are at a birthday party. Bouce houses, art shops, dora explorations, gymnastics - it is the height of the birthday party season. The 3 year old social season will culminate with Brady & Cullen's Big Birthday Bounce Party with their friends on Nov 15th.

Cullen is doing well and has adjusted to his new daytime routine. As the weather is starting to change we have introduced him to socks and shoes. I think he thinks they are just toys put on his feet for his amusement, but he sure looks cute wearing them. He is becoming a speed crawler, crossing the room in mere seconds. His favorite game is follow us from room to room. He is growing up fast though and spends most of his time practicing how to stand up and studying Brady's walking technique. He loves to say Mama and clap his hands to sign "more"... as in hand over more food right now Mommy!

Funny quote: Last week it rained a ton and overnight our pool went from a sparkling blue to an algae infested green. Brady woke up, saw the pool out the window and said "Daddy, your pool is green. Pool's are supposed to be blue. You need to fix it Daddy."
