Drum roll please.... Cullen's next surgery will be May 19th. During this surgery the Latham device will be removed and his lip and hard palate will be repaired. It is an inpatient surgery with a 2-3 night hospital stay. Cullen will once again have the pleasure of eating from a syringe and wearing arm restraints for some time following the surgery. I am sure he is looking forward to this. ;-) It looks like we will be holding off on inserting tubes into his ears until his next surgery in the fall. This is partly because he has gone 8+ weeks without an ear infection and also partly due to scheduling of ORs, doctors, appointments, etc.
Basically what this means is that his beautiful smile that we have come to know and love will be drastically changed, presumably for the better, in just 4 short weeks. So if you haven't had the opportunity to see Cullen's current smile in person, come on over! You are really missing out on something special. He truly does have a glowing smile that spans his entire face- literally. For those of you who are far away, have no fear, I am snapping loads of pictures daily.
